Chinafloors Grand Opening of Newly Built Factory Site

16 Apr 2009

On March 20, 2009, Chinafloors Timber welcomed 400 guests, governors from Europe and Zhejiang, and other top officials to do the ribbon cutting during the official inauguration of the new Chinafloors factory in Jiashan, Zhejiang. Under the first spring sun, the Chinafloors team welcomed its’ guests with dancing dragons and invited them to throw a lucky fish into the pond that surrounds the main office building.

The inauguration took place in one of the nine workshop buildings on the 200,000 sq m (2mio sq ft) production facility, where a large wooden key was passed on by the Chinafloors employees to symbolically start the machines. During the speech of Thomas Baert and Woody Zeng (company owners Chinafloors Timber), everybody was convinced about the beliefs of the Chinafloors team: “We will continue our growth sprint, even during tough economic conditions!”

After the ribbon cutting, all visitors were invited for lunch and a fashion show with Chinese and Western models, dressed in laminate decor paper and showing all of Chinafloors’ products. This event was described by the visitors as “A top performance….unseen before.”

During the entire opening event, focus was placed on the fact that Chinafloors combines Asian tradition with a Western flavour in every aspect of work. “We are a foreign company, with a Western approach of management, but we are based in China. Today, we are trying to show our visitors what wonderful and successful cooperation can exist when Western and Asian forces are united. We have used this special approach for the last 5 years, and will continue to use it for all the years coming.”
