Wood factory moves to Jiashan
10 Jun 2008
At the end of May 2008, Chinafloors moved its wood production to its new facility in Jiashan, an industrial area to the south of Shanghai. In 8 days, the company moved 900 people, 17.000 m3 of raw material and a machine park with a production capacity of 120,000m2 (1.2million ft2) monthly. With its 200,000m2 (2million ft2) the new facility will be China’s largest vertically integrated wood flooring plant, with a log yard, cutting mills, 20 kiln dries, S4S, pressing, profiling and finishing lines all on one site!
Woody Zeng, general manager of Chinafloors, testifies: “Although the company’s strong growth has led us to move twice already in the past, every time is different and represents a new challenge. However we believe that this move is for our company a big leap forwards as our vertical integration will enable us to create economies of scale and streamline our production process making us the largest and most efficient specialty manufacturer of wood and laminate flooring in China.”
